Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate ICU nursing care to critically ill adult patients
• Assess patient status continuously and intervene promptly to stabilize condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced treatments per protocol
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team—physicians, respiratory therapists, and others—to develop and execute care plans
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and ventilator settings, adjusting care as needed
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license for the state of Kentucky (or compact RN licensure where applicable)
• ICU experience preferred; demonstrated competency in critical care nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented ICU environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in critical care monitoring and interpretation of cardiac/hemodynamic data
• Skills in ventilator management and airway support
• Familiarity with IV/infusion therapy and titratable drips
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting in real time
