Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED
• Provide hands-on clinical care including medication administration and wound management
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes with appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and follow-up
• Maintain a safe, efficient ED environment and advocate for patient needs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Kentucky required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred; new grads with strong ED orientation may be considered
• Strong critical thinking and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• IV insertion, medication administration, and basic procedures
• Familiarity with ECG interpretation and acute care protocols
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks under pressure
• Compassionate patient education and family communication
