Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to older adults
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention, using proper transfer techniques
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
• Accurately document care provided and resident responses in the medical record
• Maintain infection control and safety standards at all times
• Collaborate with the care team and communicate clearly with families

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or completion of an approved GNA program
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a GNA program or state-required certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and ADLs
• Skill in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Ability to observe, document, and report clinical changes
• Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
• Good time management and teamwork skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
