Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour shifts; specific start/end times and days not specified. Shift type: RN - Med/Surg (Peds). Orientation required.

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to med/surg and pediatric patients
Assess and monitor patient conditions, reporting changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and update care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
Document care and patient responses thoroughly in the medical record
Participate actively in orientation to learn unit-specific protocols and workflows

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligibility to obtain one
Experience or comfort working in Medical-Surgical and Pediatric settings preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; PALS and/or ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of med/surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
IV therapy, medication administration, and safety protocols
Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation standards
Infection control practices and safe patient handling
