Roles & Responsibilities

Assess, triage and prioritize patients in the emergency environment with speed and compassion
Provide direct patient care including medication administration, wound care and clinical interventions
Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate timely transfers when needed
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in the medical record
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care to support recovery

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or eligible to obtain)
Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred for emergency nursing
Previous Emergency Department or critical care nursing experience recommended
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in fast-paced settings

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
BSN preferred where available; active RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency nursing principles, triage and rapid assessment
Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients safely
Clinical documentation and comfort with electronic medical records
Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy and basic procedures
Calm, decisive problem-solving under pressure and strong situational awareness
