Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients, ensuring safe recovery from surgery
Monitor vital signs and recovery status closely, escalating changes in condition promptly
Administer medications and pain management per protocols with careful documentation
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the care team to coordinate timely patient transitions
Educate families on recovery expectations, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate electronic health records and handoff communication to the next care team

Qualifications

Current RN license in Missouri (or compact license eligible)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Experience in PACU or pediatric nursing preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with post-anesthesia care
Ability to pass facility background and credentialing requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); diploma accepted in many cases

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery protocols and pediatric physiology
Skilled in pediatric patient assessment, pain management, and airway monitoring
Familiarity with EHR documentation and safe medication administration
Excellent communication and family-centered care approach
Teamwork mindset and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced perioperative environment
