Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Medical-Surgical unit
• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in condition promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions
• Perform safe patient transfers, wound care, and other clinical procedures as needed
• Escalate concerns and advocate for patients to ensure timely, effective care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or Compact RN licensure
• Minimum Med/Surg clinical experience preferred (new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications a plus
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background and drug screening
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid medical-surgical nursing knowledge and assessment skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage a varied patient assignment
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
