Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
- Assess, monitor, and interpret patient status and vital signs to guide timely interventions
- Administer medications and manage complex therapies including ventilators and vasoactive drips
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
- Lead safe patient transfers and handoffs with clear, concise communication
- Document accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record
- Participate in orientation and precepting to support unit growth and excellence
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Louisiana or eligibility for Louisiana licensure
- ICU clinical experience (preferred experience in adult critical care)
- BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care assessment and monitoring
- Ventilator management and ventilator-associated care
- Medication administration for vasoactive and sedation drips
- Familiarity with ICU equipment and monitors
- Effective communication and team collaboration
- Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation skills
