Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts). Schedule released 4-6 weeks in advance; 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; Just-In-Time (JIT) option may assign facility 1-2 hours before shift start. Guaranteed ~36 hours/week.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor adult telemetry patients closely, interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in a timely manner
• Provide direct bedside care across MS-Tele, cardiac, neuro, oncology, ortho, renal and other specialties as assigned
• Safely titrate Heparin drips per protocol and collaborate with the team on medication management
• Document accurately in EPIC and maintain clear, timely charting for continuity of care
• Float between facilities within Zone 1 (Colorado Springs area) and adapt to varying unit workflows and teams
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, escalate concerns, and participate in bedside handoffs
• Support patient and family education, discharge planning and bedside coaching to improve outcomes
• Step into charge or leadership tasks when needed (charge usually does not take a full assignment unless necessary)

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the practicing state (Colorado) or eligible under state compact — required to submit license
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Telemetry clinical experience required
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required prior to start
• Experience with Heparin titration and telemetry rhythm interpretation
• Comfortable floating across multiple facilities within a 60-mile zone and flexible to JIT assignments
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend/holiday rotation needs
• EPIC experience preferred; prior neuro experience preferred but not required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN not required for this role

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation skills
• Proficiency with EPIC charting and electronic documentation workflows
• Familiarity with RT equipment (vent, CPAP, BiPAP) and basic ventilator/respiratory troubleshooting
• Ability to prioritize in busy acute-care settings and manage 1:5-6 patient ratios depending on acuity
• Comfort with post-surgical and medical-surgical patient populations across multiple specialties
• Charge nurse familiarity and delegation/coordination skills
