Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Rapidly triage and prioritize care for incoming ED patients to ensure optimal outcomes
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including medication administration and advanced monitoring
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
• Maintain situational awareness and contribute to unit safety, quality improvement, and efficient throughput

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Experience working in Emergency Department or similar acute care setting preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to function effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced situations and work well within a team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills for rapid decision making
• Proficiency with IV starts, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
