Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate Med/Surg nursing care to pediatric patients
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized nursing plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the EMR
• Communicate clearly with families and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition in a timely manner
• Participate in orientation, unit-based training, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact RN able to practice in CA
• Clinical experience in Med/Surg and/or Pediatrics preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) a plus
• Current immunizations and ability to pass required background/credentialing checks
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN (BSN preferred when available)

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational pediatric nursing and med/surg clinical skills
• IV therapy, medication administration, and patient monitoring
• Accurate EMR documentation and basic computer skills
• Ability to triage and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Family-centered care and effective patient/family education
