Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely clinical laboratory testing across core sections as a CLS generalist
• Manage blood bank procedures and ensure safe, compliant transfusion practices
• Follow quality control and quality assurance protocols to maintain high lab standards
• Process and document specimens, results, and troubleshoot instrumentation issues
• Communicate findings clearly with clinical teams to support patient care decisions
• Maintain required regulatory and safety documentation, including TB clearance records

Qualifications

• Current California CLS license or MLS license (required)
• CLS Generalist background with demonstrable blood bank experience
• TB clearance completed within the past 12 months (required)
• Comfortable working within a 30-mile radius of the hospital in Humboldt County
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to laboratory best practices

• Clinical laboratory testing fundamentals and generalist workflows
• Blood bank procedures and transfusion safety
• Specimen handling, processing, and documentation
• Quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
• Effective communication with clinical staff and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and basic instrument troubleshooting
