Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct OB and labor & delivery nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and best practices
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, timely patient transitions and discharges
• Educate patients and families to promote understanding and safe home care after discharge
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, initiating emergency measures as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete incident reports per policy
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members to ensure safe patient care
• Participate in daily rounds to identify and address patient needs and quality improvement opportunities

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in North Dakota or Compact state agreement (required prior to start)
• Experience in OB / Labor & Delivery nursing (previous L&D experience preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association (required prior to start)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — AHA (required prior to start)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) — AAP (required prior to start)
• STABLE certification (required prior to start)
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour day/night shifts and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and development of individualized care plans
• Care coordination and discharge planning for postpartum and neonatal patients
• Patient/family education and counseling tailored to diverse backgrounds
• Emergency response and neonatal resuscitation skills
• Strong documentation skills and incident reporting
• Delegation and team leadership within nursing scope of practice
• Familiarity with ShiftWise Flex scheduling platform
• Interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
