Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
- Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Louisiana)
- Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing or equivalent clinical experience
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
- Valid ID, ability to pass background and drug screening as required by facility
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and patient assessment
- Competence in medication administration and IV therapy
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Teamwork, clinical judgment, and strong critical thinking skills
