Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
Assess, monitor and document patient conditions and respond to changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team—physicians, therapists and family—to coordinate care plans
Educate patients and families on condition management, medications and discharge instructions
Participate in orientation and unit onboarding to ensure consistent standards of care

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri (or compact privilege if applicable)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg and pediatric patient populations
Ability to pass facility background checks and satisfy onboarding requirements
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical assessment and patient monitoring
Medication administration and IV therapy basics
Pediatric care principles and family-centered communication
Electronic medical record documentation
Time management, prioritization, and teamwork in a fast-paced unit
