Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe, and evidence-based Medical-Surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Monitor telemetry and promptly assess and intervene for cardiac changes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and with attention to detail
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes thoroughly and timely
• Participate in unit quality improvement and patient safety initiatives to enhance outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (must be valid for practice in Maine)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• Previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience required (Med-Surg experience only)
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Flu vaccine mandated by the State of Maine
• Willingness to work nights and every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Medical-Surgical nursing knowledge and patient assessment skills
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac life support and emergency response (ACLS/BLS)
• Medication administration and IV/infusion management
• Accurate clinical documentation and handoff communication
• Teamwork, clinical judgment, and patient-centered care
