Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status using clinical judgment and EHR tools
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to build effective care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning in an approachable way
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate concerns when appropriate
• Participate in orientation and precepting to help onboard new team members

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of California (or compact/multistate where applicable)
• Pediatric and Med/Surg experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and care teams
• Comfortable using electronic health records and following established clinical protocols
• Professional, reliable, and committed to patient safety and quality care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric assessment and clinical reasoning skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with common Med/Surg pediatric conditions and treatments
• Excellent interpersonal and family-centered communication
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude
