Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist and scrub in cardiovascular cases including CABG, aortic, mitral, valve procedures and TAVR
• Maintain a sterile field and apply sterile technique consistently throughout cases
• Prepare and set up ORs and specialized equipment for CVOR and hybrid room procedures
• Support the surgical team by anticipating instrument needs and ensuring smooth case flow
• Document case activity in Cerner and communicate effectively with charge nurse and specialty leads
• Respond to on-call notifications within the required 30-minute window and provide reliable coverage

Qualifications

• BLS certification required for Surgical Techs
• Minimum 1 year of open heart / cardiovascular OR experience required (posting references up to 2 years)
• Proven scrub tech experience in a high-volume OR setting
• Comfortable working in hybrid rooms and assisting with TAVR and valve procedures
• Ability to respond to on-call duties and meet the 30-minute response expectation

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and scrubbing proficiency
• Experience with cardiovascular operating room procedures and open heart cases
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR for charting and documentation
• Comfort working in a hybrid room environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and the ability to prioritize under pressure
