Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients in the emergency department quickly and accurately
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for a broad range of acute presentations
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient care plans
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Document patient care clearly and thoroughly to support continuity and quality
• Support patient and family education with compassion and clarity during stressful times
• Participate in ED performance improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — New Hampshire or compact RN licensure preferred
• Prior ED/ER experience or demonstrated comfort in fast-paced acute care settings is highly valued
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in an emergency environment
• Ability to handle high-acuity patients and prioritize effectively under pressure

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing best practices
• IV therapy, medication administration, and advanced cardiac life support
• Patient monitoring, assessment, and rapid response procedures
• Electronic medical record documentation and charting
• Infection control and emergency department safety protocols
• Calm decision-making in urgent situations and effective handoff communication
