Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Quickly assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting to the ED
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other nurses to develop and implement patient care plans
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses with attention to safety
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice (Hawaii license or ability to obtain)
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities
• CPR certification up to date

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of emergency nursing procedures and protocols
• Proficiency in patient assessment, triage, and stabilization
• Comfortable with acute care equipment and monitoring
• Effective multitasking and time management under pressure
• A calm, patient-centered approach and strong clinical judgment
