Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize care for acute and emergent conditions
• Stabilize patients, administer medications and treatments safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions with empathy and clarity

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtainable per facility policy
• Previous emergency department experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to perform under pressure, and excellent communication skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment and triage skills
• IV therapy, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring proficiency
• Ability to manage trauma, acute medical, and behavioral health presentations
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Teamwork, adaptability, and strong critical-thinking abilities
