Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist nursing staff with vital signs, observations, and documenting changes in condition
• Support safe transfers and mobility to promote independence while minimizing risk
• Maintain a clean, comfortable environment for residents and adhere to infection control practices
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team to ensure coordinated care
• Participate in shift handoffs and documentation to maintain continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Active or eligible for Pennsylvania CNA certification
• Willingness to complete facility-required background checks and immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
• Ability to perform patient transfers and basic physical tasks typical for direct care roles
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of patient hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection prevention and basic safety procedures
• Comfortable with charting and basic electronic medical record entries
• Strong observational skills to notice changes in patient condition
• Compassionate bedside manner and the ability to connect with residents
