Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Assess patients regularly and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
Support patients and families through education and empathetic communication

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license for Louisiana or eligibility to obtain one
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or available
Clinical experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
Medication administration and IV therapy
Wound care and post-operative nursing basics
Familiarity with charting in an electronic health record (EHR)
Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
Time management and effective handoff communication
