Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts, schedule varies (day/night coverage) — per diem

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to med/surg and pediatric patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized plans of care
Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and discharge planning
Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly in the EHR
Educate patients and families on care plans, medications and follow-up needs

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (MO) required
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred given pediatric population
Previous Med/Surg and/or pediatric nursing experience preferred
Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts as a per diem RN and adapt to varying schedules

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
Active RN license in Missouri

Knowledge & Skills

Solid med/surg and pediatric nursing knowledge and assessment skills
Competence with medication administration and IV therapy
Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
Ability to prioritize, triage and respond to changes in patient condition
Family-centered care and patient education techniques
Teamwork, flexibility and professional bedside manner
