Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas analysis, and sleep studies with accuracy and compassion
• Administer and closely monitor respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and inhalation therapy
• Educate patients and families on disease management, breathing techniques, and safe use of respiratory equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and sleep technologists to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation that support continuity of care
• Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes and departmental processes

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist licensure in Oklahoma or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• CRT or RRT credential preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; additional certifications a plus
• Experience with mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary function testing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to educate patients and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related allied health field required
• Additional coursework or advanced certifications in respiratory care encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in pulmonary function testing and arterial blood gas analysis
• Experience managing mechanical ventilation and inhalation therapies
• Familiarity with sleep study procedures and collaboration with sleep technologists
• Comfortable with respiratory equipment setup, troubleshooting, and patient education
• Excellent documentation practices and a focus on continuous quality improvement
