Roles & Responsibilities

• Float between two Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units to provide excellent bedside nursing care
• Manage Medical-Surgical overflow patients in ICU and Emergency Department when needed
• Safely and confidently care for diverse patient populations during night shifts
• Document patient care and clinical changes accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and safe transitions
• Respond to emergent situations in ICU/ED settings with calm, effective interventions

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential — ready to deliver hands-on nursing care
• EPIC experience (explicitly required) — comfortable with electronic charting
• Experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units; ability to float between units
• Comfort and experience working night shifts and 12-hour schedules
• Ability to provide care in ICU and Emergency Department overflow situations
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork skills for float-pool dynamics

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC documentation and workflows
• Solid med-surgical and telemetry nursing skills
• Experience managing higher-acuity patients in ICU/ED overflow situations
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and escalation of care
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and communicate effectively with the care team
• Adaptability to different unit cultures and quick learning of unit-specific protocols
