Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, safe nursing care to adults in behavioral health settings
• Perform psychiatric assessments and monitor patient status throughout the shift
• Administer medications accurately and document medication effects
• Use de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to support patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Participate in orientation and training to maintain best practices and compliance

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — NH licensure required or eligible
• Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; additional certs a plus
• Comfort working 12.5-hour clinical shifts and adapting to per-diem scheduling
• Strong communication, assessment, and crisis-intervention skills
• Ability to complete required orientation and facility onboarding

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Behavioral health assessment and psychiatric nursing fundamentals
• Crisis intervention and patient de-escalation techniques
• Safe medication administration and monitoring
• Accurate clinical documentation and use of EMR systems
• Teamwork, collaboration, and patient-centered care approach
• Situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols
