Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering personalized treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility programs
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the therapy team
• Provide patient and family education to promote independence and safety
• Prepare treatment areas and ensure equipment is clean, safe, and ready
• Collaborate with nurses and rehab staff to coordinate high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license (California preferred)
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program
• BLS/CPR certification required
• Prior experience in outpatient, inpatient rehab, or skilled nursing settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with therapeutic exercise, modalities, and gait training
• Ability to perform patient assessments and document clinical interventions
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and teamwork skills
• Comfort working with adults across the continuum of care
• Basic knowledge of safety, infection control, and equipment use
