Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality assessment and individualized treatment plans for patients across the rehabilitation continuum
• Deliver evidence-based speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing interventions
• Collaborate with rehab team members, caregivers and families to support functional communication goals
• Document progress and plan updates accurately and timely in the patient record
• Assist with discharge planning and community resource connections to promote continuity of care
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute clinical expertise to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology (Maine licensure required or eligible)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or equivalent clinical certification
• Experience in rehabilitation or medical settings preferred, especially with adult populations
• Up-to-date CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
• Ability to pass background checks and complete facility credentialing quickly

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or entry-level professional degree)
• ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized and functional communication and swallowing assessments
• Proficient with treatment techniques for dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive-communication and voice disorders
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable adapting treatment for varied caseloads and acuity levels
