Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient-centered care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly and promptly
• Develop individualized plans of care and adjust interventions based on ongoing evaluation
• Implement nursing interventions to promote safety, recovery and patient education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate continuity of care and timely discharges
• Prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately to support efficient unit functioning
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and use data to improve patient outcomes
• Act as a patient advocate, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards at all times

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential — active and in good standing
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing (Med/Surg, Med/Tele)
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS) — must be completed (noted requirement during probation period)
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting preferred (candidates with EPIC experience will be given preference)
• Strong patient assessment, care planning and nursing documentation skills
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour day shifts and cover every-other-weekend rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Patient assessment and care planning for adult medical-surgical/telemetry populations
• Proficient nursing documentation and electronic charting (EPIC experience is a plus)
• Delegation, prioritization and unit leadership during your shift
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family education
• Quality improvement, research utilization and evidence-based practice
