Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care for adult ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic and respiratory data to keep patients stable
• Administer medications and titrate infusions safely according to orders
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes to drive timely interventions
• Educate and support patients and families during stressful ICU stays
• Document care accurately in the medical record and follow unit protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license where applicable
• Prior ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) highly recommended
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to manage multiple critically ill patients, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shift blocks and thrive in a fast-paced critical care environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and monitoring
• Ventilator and respiratory support familiarity
• IV medication administration and infusion management
• Interpretation of hemodynamic data and cardiac rhythms
• Team collaboration and clear communication with multidisciplinary staff
• Patient/family education and compassionate bedside manner
