Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care and airway management for pediatric patients
• Administer aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and noninvasive ventilation as ordered
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and carry out patient-specific respiratory plans
• Monitor patient response and ventilator settings, documenting changes accurately and promptly
• Perform respiratory assessments and communicate findings to providers and caregivers
• Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to ensure high-quality, standardized care

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or CRT credential preferred
• Current Respiratory Care license in Ohio or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS or pediatric certifications preferred
• Comfort and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
• Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to complete required orientation prior to starting clinical shifts

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred
• Completion of an accredited respiratory care program and credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric respiratory assessment and interventions
• Familiarity with ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Skill administering aerosol treatments, oxygen therapy, and airway adjuncts
• Ability to accurately document in electronic medical records
• Effective communication with families, nurses, and physicians
• Calm decision-making in urgent respiratory situations
