Location: St. Louis, MO
Start Date: 04-08-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 4-hour shifts; schedule varies by facility (specific start/end times and days to be provided). Orientation required.
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate pre-operative nursing care for pediatric patients
- Assess and document patient status, vitals, and readiness for procedures
- Prepare patients and families for surgery with clear, age-appropriate education
- Collaborate with surgical and perioperative teams to ensure smooth handoffs
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies consistently
- Participate in required orientation and site-specific training
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) credential — prepared to work in a pediatric pre-op setting
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric care and pre-operative nursing
- Available for per diem 4-hour shifts and able to attend orientation
- Professional, patient-focused approach and strong communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with pediatric assessment and age-appropriate communication
- Skilled at accurate vitals monitoring and clinical documentation
- Knowledge of pre-op preparation, safety checks, and infection control
- Able to collaborate effectively with surgical teams and support staff
- Calm under pressure and compassionate with patients and families
