Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, 4-hour shifts; schedule varies by facility (specific start/end times and days to be provided). Orientation required.

Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate pre-operative nursing care for pediatric patients
Assess and document patient status, vitals, and readiness for procedures
Prepare patients and families for surgery with clear, age-appropriate education
Collaborate with surgical and perioperative teams to ensure smooth handoffs
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies consistently
Participate in required orientation and site-specific training

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) credential — prepared to work in a pediatric pre-op setting
Experience or strong interest in pediatric care and pre-operative nursing
Available for per diem 4-hour shifts and able to attend orientation
Professional, patient-focused approach and strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable with pediatric assessment and age-appropriate communication
Skilled at accurate vitals monitoring and clinical documentation
Knowledge of pre-op preparation, safety checks, and infection control
Able to collaborate effectively with surgical teams and support staff
Calm under pressure and compassionate with patients and families
