Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and responses to treatment
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications, manage ventilators and critical care equipment safely
Educate families and caregivers with empathy, clarity, and respect
Participate in orientation and training to maintain best practices and unit standards

Qualifications

Active RN license (California) required
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience strongly preferred
Current BLS required; PALS preferred or required depending on facility policy
Comfort with advanced pediatric life support equipment and protocols
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Professional references and ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in pediatric critical care principles and interventions
Skilled in patient assessment, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring
Proficient with electronic health records and thorough documentation
Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize effectively
Family-centered care approach with strong education and advocacy skills
