Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to adult patients on a busy 40-bed PCU unit
Titrate cardiac and critical drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips while delivering safe, responsive patient care
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with cardiac, vascular, renal, and respiratory conditions
Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed while maintaining excellent patient experience scores
Educate patients and families about medications and care plans with clarity and empathy

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Competency managing arterial lines
Strong telemetry interpretation skills
Minimum one year of recent PCU or step-down experience preferred
Ability to pass a skills-based open-book exam with 90% or higher during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
Drip titration for cardiac and vasoactive medications
Arterial line management
High-flow oxygen therapy support
Patient education and clear communication
Flexibility to float between PCU, MedSurg, and ICU
