Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct respiratory care and life-sustaining treatments to patients with pulmonary conditions
• Assess respiratory status, monitor patient response, and adjust treatments as needed
• Operate, troubleshoot, and manage ventilators and respiratory equipment safely
• Deliver oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and airway management interventions
• Perform diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function assessments
• Document treatments and patient progress thoroughly and accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to create and implement care plans
• Participate in orientation and continuous education to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist (RT) license in Missouri or eligibility for licensure
• Credentialed as CRT or RRT preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS or PALS preferred depending on unit
• Previous acute care respiratory experience preferred
• Ability to complete facility orientation beginning April 8, 2026
• Must meet facility requirements for immunizations and background checks

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise with ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and airway management
• Skill in arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
• Experience with pulmonary function testing and respiratory diagnostics
• Comfortable documenting care in electronic medical records and following protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate patient-centered care
