Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts; exact start/end times and days vary by assignment (per diem Med/Surg)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor clinical changes
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and document accurately
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and safe discharge plans
Respond promptly to patient needs and acute clinical situations
Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact license eligibility
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS or other specialty certifications preferred when available
Clinical experience or comfort working in a medical-surgical setting
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medical-surgical nursing principles and patient assessment
Safe medication administration and IV therapy skills
Electronic health record (EHR) documentation best practices
Patient and family education techniques
Infection control and safety procedures
Time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
