Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Take and record vital signs, observe changes, and promptly report concerns to the nursing team
Support residents with mobility and transfers while practicing safe lifting techniques
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of resident care and behavior
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver person-centered care plans
Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence for every resident

Qualifications

Current CNA certification in Connecticut (state license required)
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
Ability to perform physical aspects of the role including lifting and standing for extended periods
Reliable, punctual, and committed to teamwork and resident-centered care

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
State-approved CNA program completion and active CNA license

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident assistance
Basic clinical skills: vital signs, infection control, and safe transfers
Accurate documentation and charting practices
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge of long-term care best practices and resident rights
