Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor pediatric patients as they recover from anesthesia
Provide skilled post-anesthesia care and manage pain and comfort needs
Perform focused airway and hemodynamic assessments and intervene promptly
Communicate clearly with families and the interdisciplinary surgical team
Document patient status, interventions and progress accurately in the chart
Support safe handoffs and timely discharge from the PACU area
Participate in orientation and training to maintain unit standards

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Experience or strong interest in PACU nursing with pediatric patients
Comfortable working in a perioperative/post-anesthesia environment
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; pediatric certifications such as PALS preferred
Able to complete required orientation and competency validations
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a surgical team

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and monitoring in the immediate post-anesthesia period
Airway management basics and recognition of respiratory compromise
Familiarity with PACU protocols, safety practices and recovery milestones
Pediatric care considerations, family-centered communication and comfort measures
Accurate clinical documentation and time management in a fast-paced setting
Collaborative team skills and clear handoff communication
