Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
Prepare the operating room with sterile technique and the correct instrumentation
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members to coordinate care
Monitor and document patient status throughout the perioperative process
Anticipate surgical team needs and provide timely support during procedures
Participate in safety checks, time-outs, and infection prevention protocols

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana) or eligible for licensure
Experience or background in Operating Room/perioperative nursing preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; advanced certifications (ACLS, CNOR) a plus
Ability to pass standard background check and drug screening
Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Sterile technique and surgical instrumentation familiarity
Perioperative patient assessment and monitoring
Medication administration and documentation accuracy
Electronic medical record (EMR) charting and compliance
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm in fast-paced OR settings
