Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess patient condition, interpret monitoring data, and intervene promptly to stabilize children
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately while following safety protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members on care plans
• Educate and support families with empathy, clear communication, and family-centered care practices
• Participate in unit orientation, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality/safety efforts

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio or compact RN licensure where applicable
• Experience or strong interest in pediatric critical care; PICU experience is a plus
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) highly preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings/immunizations
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork skills, and a patient-family centered approach

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in pediatric assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, and managing acute changes
• Familiarity with ventilator care and common PICU equipment and therapies
• Excellent medication administration and IV/central line management skills
• Clear, compassionate communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting detailed care notes
