Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care and therapy to pediatric patients with compassion and precision
• Perform respiratory assessments, monitor patient status, and adjust care per clinician orders
• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and families to create patient-centered plans
• Document interventions and patient responses clearly and timely in the chart
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain best practices and competencies
• Support a culture of safety, infection control, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT/RRT) — state licensure expected for Ohio
• Current BLS; pediatric certifications (PALS) preferred or welcomed
• Experience caring for pediatric patients is highly desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with children and families
• Ability to pass facility orientation and meet credentialing requirements

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (required)
• Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric respiratory conditions and interventions
• Proficiency with ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and airway management
• Accurate clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Comfortable working in a pediatric hospital environment with a team-based approach
• Ability to follow protocols, prioritize tasks, and remain calm in urgent situations
