Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
Assess patient condition, implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Educate patients and families about discharge planning and self-care
Document care thoroughly and communicate changes in patient status promptly
Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact privileges as applicable)
Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by unit
Experience in Med/Surg nursing or recent completion of a Med/Surg orientation program
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to unit scheduling needs

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg patient care and common medical-surgical conditions
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Effective patient assessment, documentation, and time management
Comfortable using electronic medical records and unit-specific equipment
Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and the care team
