Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with instruments, supplies, and sterile setup to ensure efficient procedures
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team by passing instruments and anticipating needs during cases
• Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control practices at all times
• Perform instrument counts and documentation accurately to support patient safety
• Help with room turnover and restocking to keep the OR schedule running smoothly
• Communicate clearly with nursing and surgical staff to coordinate patient care

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or Surgical Technology diploma/associate degree
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
• Previous OR experience preferred; pediatric experience is a plus
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation requirements
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented with excellent communication skills

Education

• Surgical Technology diploma or Associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred
• CST certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, and OR supplies
• Familiarity with surgical procedures, positioning, and perioperative workflow
• Able to anticipate surgeon needs and respond calmly under pressure
• Good documentation habits and attention to detail for instrument counts
• Team collaboration skills and clear communication in a fast-paced environment
