Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD on a busy 18-bed telemetry unit
- Interpret telemetry strips and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators to deliver excellent outcomes
- Support patients using CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Build meaningful connections with patients while managing a 6:1 ratio with strong communication and time-management skills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas or compact license
- Current BLS certification
- Strong telemetry strip interpretation skills
- Excellent communication and time-management abilities
- Willingness to float to other med/surg units as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Managing patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD
- Comfort with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
- Working collaboratively with PCTs and the interdisciplinary team
- Adapting to a dynamic schedule that includes weekends and holidays
