Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ communication and swallowing abilities using evidence-based assessment tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on meaningful functional goals
• Deliver compassionate therapy sessions and adapt techniques to each patient’s needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support carryover and improve daily communication
• Maintain timely documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in meetings and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions of care

Qualifications

• Current California Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility to obtain CA licensure
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or active progress toward certification
• Clinical experience in adult and/or pediatric settings — facility-dependent (talk to recruiter)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification as required by facility
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centered approach

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapy techniques and standardized assessment tools
• Strong clinical reasoning and goal-writing skills
• Comfortable working within interdisciplinary teams and adapting to varied caseloads
• Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation skills and timely charting
• Ability to educate and coach families and caregivers effectively
