Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess functional abilities and perform thorough patient evaluations to guide care
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans to improve independence
• Implement therapeutic interventions across inpatient, outpatient, swing bed, and skilled nursing settings
• Document patient progress and treatment in the EMR accurately and timely
• Manage a diverse caseload with organization and clinical judgment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support home carryover and safety
• Monitor compliance with California OT regulations and facility policies
• Participate in continuous professional learning and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Active California Occupational Therapist License in good standing
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) certification
• 2–3 years of experience in acute care, rehabilitation, outpatient, or similar settings
• Proficiency with EMR documentation and general computer skills
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to independently manage varied caseloads and prioritize patient needs
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuing professional development

Education

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment and functional ability evaluation
• Expertise in developing and implementing treatment plans
• EMR documentation and electronic charting proficiency
• Caseload management and clinical prioritization
• Knowledge of California OT regulations and compliance standards
• Experience across inpatient, outpatient, swing bed, and skilled nursing settings
• Strong communication and patient education skills
