Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
• Serve as the circulating RN to coordinate patient care and ensure safety in the OR
• Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the surgical team
• Direct and supervise personnel assigned to you, supporting a cohesive team environment
• Follow established standards of care, policies, and procedures to maintain clinical excellence
• Collaborate with the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, and RN Team Leader to support unit operations
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (appropriate state licensure or compact privileges as applicable)
• Experience in perioperative nursing with demonstrated circulating nurse skills
• Proven ability to supervise and direct assigned personnel
• Strong patient advocacy, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Comfort working a daytime flex schedule (06:30 AM - 07:00 PM) and adhering to unit policies

• Preoperative care: preparing patients and equipment for surgery
• Intraoperative care: circulating duties to support safe surgical flow
• Postoperative care: monitoring recovery and ensuring continuity of care
• Nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Patient advocacy: prioritizing patient safety and dignity
• Supervision: directing and mentoring perioperative staff
• Standards of care and adherence to policies and procedures
