Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients under the direction of the Physical Therapist, delivering hands-on care that helps people regain function and independence
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with the PT Board and facility policy
• Assist in maintaining an organized, safe, and effective treatment area so care runs smoothly
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences to coordinate care and maximize outcomes
• Support nursing staff by training Restorative Aides and teaching caregiver maintenance programs
• Communicate patient progress, concerns, and plans clearly with supervisors and the interdisciplinary team
• Report equipment issues promptly and help ensure treatment tools remain in good working order
• Lead or participate in in-service training programs to elevate team skills and patient care quality

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of California (required)
• License must be maintained in good standing with the state board at all times
• Proficient computer skills and experience inputting data into Casamba and PointClickCare
• Willingness to meet continuing education requirements per state practice
• Strong communication skills and ability to relate positively with residents, families, and staff

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (required)
• Must meet and maintain state continuing education requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and treatment plan execution that focuses on safety and functional gains
• Treatment documentation and weekly progress note preparation per PT Board rules
• Caregiver training and family instruction to support successful discharges
• Experience or comfort using Casamba and PointClickCare clinical documentation systems
• Participation in rehabilitation conferences and in-service training delivery
• Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and ability to report/coordinate repairs
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
