Roles & Responsibilities
- Optimize and support pharmacy informatics systems, automation, and workflows across Salina Regional and affiliated locations
- Enhance medication safety and operational efficiency by leveraging EHRs, medication-use systems, and monitoring tools
- Support drug diversion monitoring programs and help ensure integrity of the medication-use process
- Contribute to regulatory compliance efforts and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide patient-centered pharmaceutical care, including dispensing and drug information in line with hospital standards and pharmacy law
- Collaborate with clinical teams and IT to integrate smart pump, barcoding, and automated dispensing technologies into safe workflows
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited program — required
- Minimum 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience — required
- ASHP-accredited residency — preferred
- Board Certification in Pharmacy Informatics (BCPIS) or related certification — preferred
- Experience with pharmacy automation, informatics, or IT applications — preferred
- Current Kansas pharmacist license or eligibility for Kansas licensure — highly preferred
Education
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited program (required)
- ASHP-accredited residency (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge of pharmacy informatics systems and medication safety monitoring
- Experience with automated dispensing systems and pharmacy automation platforms
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and medication-use systems
- Understanding of drug diversion tracking and reporting tools
- Comfort with smart IV pump technology, barcoding, and scanning workflows
- Strong clinical pharmacy practice skills and a patient-centered approach
- Awareness of regulatory requirements for controlled substances and compliance practices
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work with clinical and IT teams
